Caramel and Chocolate Smoothie Bowl

  • Ali

My latest invention, taking the gorgeous Arbonne Vanilla Protein, which I already adore, to another level my giving it a natural caramel taste. This is such a decadent breakfast and makes a perfect smoothie bowl. You can combine the two flavours, as I have done here, to just make a single flavour caramel or chocolate bowl instead.

For me the discovery Arbonne’s gluten free, plant based protein was a revelation. Their high quality formulas are powered by phytonutrients which are unique, beneficial botanical compounds. Each vegan and gluten free certified product is developed with premium blends of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, fructooligosaccharides and bacillus coagulans for maximum product effectiveness. They are designed for the whole family so you can ensure you and your whole family are getting optimum nutrition.

But can you really get the nutrition you need from plant proteins?

Before Arbonne if you’d asked me to name the products with the highest sources of protein I’d have opted for meats and chick peas. I had no real idea that the humble pea was so rich in protein, and more importantly in protein that is bio-available to the body. Arbonne has been really clever with the choice of ingredients too. Their protein mixes are a combination of Pea, Rice and Cranberry proteins meaning that each product has a 100% amino acid score which is key to optimum absorption.

Ingredients

For the Caramel

·      200ml filtered water

·      4 – 6 ice cubes

·      1 scoop (1 x 10g serving) Arbonne Vanilla Protein shake

·      1- 2 dates

·      ¼  frozen avocado

·      ½ tblsp Maca powder

·      1 tblsp chia seeds

For the chocolate

·      200ml filtered water

·      4 – 6 ice cubes

·      1 scoop (1 x 10g serving) Chocolate Protein Shake

·      1/2 tblsp cocoa powder

·      ¼ frozen avocado

·      1 tblsp chia seeds

·      Topping: gluten free granola, sliced banana, sunflower or pumpkin seeds, cocoa nibs, coconut flakes

Directions

  1. Mix all the ingredients for each flavour in a blender or Nutri-bullet and blend until combined.
  2. Add more water as required (you want this smoothie to be thick so add in small amounts).
  3. Layer each flavour in your dish adding toppings as you go so each layer has a surprise crunch!
  4. Layer a Mason Jar with smoothie, granola, strawberries and banana slices, and more smoothie. Top with another layer of granola, strawberries and banana and finish with a little zest of grated lemon.
  5. Grab a spoon and eat immediately or pop the lid on and take it with you to on-the-go.
